Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Health for All Means Pain Care for All

Join us as we explore how achieving health for all by 2030 means ensuring access to pain care for everyone in need.

Tuesday, May 28 · 6 – 9pm CEST

Location: International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent

The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), a Non-State Actor in official relations with the World Health Organization in partnership with the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA) and The G4 Alliance (G4A), will host a side event at the 77th World Health Assembly in 2024 entitled – Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Health for All Means Pain Care for All.

One in five persons worldwide develops chronic pain at some point in their lives, making chronic pain a very common condition. Pain is one of the most frequent causes for patients to seek medical care and has a huge impact on quality of life for patients and their families. Our side event invites you to hear about a proposed World Health Assembly Resolution to Ensure Adequate and Appropriate Pain Prevention and Treatment.

A panel of distinguished experts, including those from the patient perspective, will discuss current approaches to better diagnosis and management of pain in various countries that may serve as models worldwide. Representatives of individual Member States, in particular, are asked to be part of the formal and informal discussion and are encouraged to consider supporting the Resolution. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future for all!
