WFSA joined the 74th session of the World Health Organization Regional Committee for Africa (RC74) statement on sub-agenda item 18.2
Sub-agenda item 18.2: Progress report on the Framework for implementing the Global strategy on digital health in the WHO African Region
The World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) welcome the progress outlined in this report but urge member states to renew their efforts to adopt and implement digital health strategies that strengthen unserved specialties like anaesthesia.
WFSA have long been at the forefront of efforts to improve anaesthesia provision by providing e online anaesthesiologist-led training.
By investing in digital health infrastructure, we can ensure continuous professional development and expand the reach of expert anaesthesia care to underserved areas.
The WFSA calls on stakeholders to prioritize digital health initiatives, as this may foster also a resilient anaesthesia workforce capable of meeting the region’s healthcare challenges.
