WFSA joins global alliance to strengthen the environmental sustainability of health systems
ATACH was formed to turn into action the commitments made by 50 Ministries of Health at COP26, to develop climate-resilient and low-carbon sustainable health systems. To date, 66 organisations including NGOs, international business associations, academic institutions, and philanthropic foundations have partnered with ATACH. This engagement builds on the WFSA’s strategic priority of championing the vital role of anaesthesiologists in global and planetary health.
The work of ATACH is divided into working groups which meet a minimum of once every 6 months. Under the leadership of Jodi Sherman, the following WFSA Sustainable Committee members will be helping to share the priorities and activities of these working groups:
- Financing – Christian Nilo Schultz (Chile)
- Climate resilient health systems – Simantika Ghosh (India)
- Low carbon sustainable health systems – Jane Muret (France)
- Supply chains – Dr Craig McClain (US)
Christian Schultz is WFSA’s lead focal point. Adrian Gelb will also be supporting WFSA’s engagement with ATACH.
