The International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) International Outreach Travel Grant applications are open until 11.59pm ET, Thursday, 12 August 2026.
This travel grant provides funding (USD 1,000 to 5,000 + free meeting registration) for researchers located in LMICs to attend and present their research at the 2027 Annual Meeting, held 30 April – 02 May, in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
Beyond funding, recipients gain valuable global exposure, networking opportunities, and mentorship connections that help advance their careers and strengthen collaboration across regions.

This live webinar which will provide guidance on how to develop a stronger application and improve applicants’ chances of success. Led by the Chair of the IARS International Outreach Travel Grant Review Study Section, it will offer practical guidance on developing a compelling abstract, crafting a competitive application, and understanding what reviewers look for in successful submissions. The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A, providing an opportunity to ask questions directly to the Review Study Chair and hear from past travel grant recipients before the application deadline.
- Eligibility: Early- to mid-career investigators, in-training researchers from low-, lower-middle- and upper-middle-income countries

- Must apply for the travel grant via ProposalCentralMust submit an abstract to the 2027 Annual MeetingMust be an IARS member (discounted membership options available for members in LMICs and UMICs)Must currently reside in a LMIC or UMIC country and be conducting the application research in that country as well (view eligible countries)May only submit one travel grant application.
