We are excited to announce that applications for the 2024/2025 Small Grants are now open, with allocated funds to support innovative projects aimed at advancing anaesthesia and perioperative care worldwide.
About WFSA Small Grants
The WFSA Small Grants programme seeks to encourage and support innovative projects that align with the WFSA’s Strategic Priorities. We are looking for projects with clear aims and significant potential impact.
Previous projects supported by WFSA Small Grants (formerly known as WFSA Committee Project Funding) included:
- Essential Pain Management in sub-Saharan Africa
- Inspire Leadership Development Course and Conference in Uganda
- Development of a Fellowship in Knowledge Translation
- Redesigning the Anaesthesia Facility Assessment Tool
- Delivery of Vital Anaesthesia Simulation Training in Nepal
Application requirements
- Applicants can typically request up to $10,000 USD in funding per project.
- Projects are typically completed within a year, with the possibility of extending if agreed upon beforehand.
- Successful applicants will be required to sign a grant agreement and provide an interim update and a final report to the WFSA Board upon project completion.
Preference will be given to
- Projects implemented or supported by WFSA Committees
- Projects involving one or more WFSA Member Societies
- Co-funded applications.

Please head to our online portal and upload any supporting documents. Select ‘All other WFSA Awards – start application,’ then choose Chapter ‘WFSA Grants’ and Category ‘Small Grants.’
The deadline for applications is 11 August. Successful applicants will be notified by 9 September.
