Advanced Airway Fellowship
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Advanced Airway Management Fellowship provides specialized training for board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologists. This one-year fellowship allows participants to enhance their expertise in advanced airway management, mastering complex techniques and invasive procedures.

Perioperative Medicine and Onco-Anesthesia Fellowship
The Perioperative Medicine & Onco-Anesthesia Fellowship is a one-year program designed to provide specialized training in both perioperative medicine and onco-anesthesia. With a focus on the continuum of care for surgical patients, particularly those with cancer, the fellowship addresses gaps in traditional residency curricula by offering comprehensive expertise in these growing subspecialties. This combined curriculum equips trainees to become consultants in both fields, meeting the increasing demand for advanced care in these areas.

Regional Anesthesia & Acute Pain Fellowship
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine (RAAPM) Fellowship offers board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologists specialized training in regional anesthesia and acute pain management for a wide range of surgical and invasive procedures.
During this one-year fellowship, trainees will gain expertise in managing acute postoperative pain, employing advanced regional and neuraxial anesthesia techniques, and implementing enhanced recovery strategies, including opioid-sparing analgesia, to optimize perioperative care.
Graduates outside the USA are not eligible for the RAAPM fellowship at this time.

How to apply:
MD Anderson’s GME Office has preliminary eligibility requirements that all prospective trainees must meet before applying for a training program at our institution. In addition to these criteria, our program requests the following requirements.

Required Application Materials:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement/Letter of Intent
- Letters of Recommendation – 3 letters from faculty anesthesiologists (one letter from training program director is required)
- Letter of Good Standing (at current institution)
- Medical School Diploma and Transcript
For International Students:
- International candidates with equivalent foreign training must have full ECFMG certification to be considered.
- USMLE: All 3 steps required unless you are a J-1 in which on STEP 1 & STEP 2 are only required.
