Contract: 12-month fixed-term (extension subject to funding)
Salary: £28,500 per annum

WFSA is a global organisation dedicated to ensuring safe and affordable anaesthesia care for all. With 142 Member Societies across 151 countries, we work to improve surgical outcomes through advocacy, education, collaboration, and quality and safety initiatives.
As Communications Officer, you will help implement our communications, advocacy, and digital learning strategies. Your work will support our mission to raise awareness of global anaesthesia challenges and engage stakeholders worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Content creation and digital presence:
- Develop engaging written and visual content for WFSA’s website and social media.
- Manage and enhance our digital communication channels.
- Create and disseminate mailouts and newsletters.
- Communications and marketing:
- Develop materials, including brochures, reports, and fundraising assets.
- Coordinate promotional activities for events such as the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists.
- Monitor and evaluate WFSA’s communication impact.
- Engagement:
- Strengthen relationships with our Member Societies and ensure consistent branding across their platforms.
- Engage in global health awareness campaigns.
- Maintain an internal events calendar and database of communication contacts.
What we’re looking for
Essential:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- At least two years’ experience in communications, PR, or media.
- Experience with WordPress and social media management.
- Ability to develop marketing materials and visual content.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of global health policy.
- Event management experience.
- Proficiency in Canva, InDesign, or video-editing software.
- Fluency in an additional language (French or Spanish preferred).
