Up to two fully funded 12-month paediatric anaesthesia fellowship posts in Tunis, Tunisia offering clinical training at Béchir Hamza Children’s Hospital with local and visiting international faculty, starting January 2027.
The Béchir Hamza Children’s Hospital is offering up to two Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowship positions starting in January 2027. The duration of the fellowship is 12 months.
Applications are now invited for a scholarship for this position. The successful applicant will receive funding to cover tuition, accommodation and subsistence living expenses, and travel expenses. Funding is provided by WFSA.
The fellow will work at the Béchir Hamza Children’s Hospital. Teaching will be provided by local faculty and visiting specialists.
Applicants for WFSA sponsorship should fit the following criteria:
- Must be a qualified and registered anaesthesiologist in their country of origin.
- Must be supported in their application by their own national anaesthesiology society, which must be a Member Society of WFSA.
- Must be supported in their application by their head of department or hospital management.
- Must be returning to their home country to a recognized post after completing the Fellowship.
- Should ideally be working in a teaching hospital.
Please note that priority will be given to applicants from Francophone countries, though Anglophone applicants are welcome to apply.

The deadline for applications is 19 July 2026. Complete your application form and upload the following documents:
- Curriculum vitae with one recent photo and the names of two referees
- Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s national anaesthesiology society
- Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s head of department or hospital management
- Copy of medical degree
- Copy of specialist anaesthesiology qualification
Applications will be considered by a panel of anaesthesiologists selected by WFSA, and the successful applicant will be informed by the end of August 2026 at the latest.
The successful applicant must confirm their intention to take up the scholarship within five days of notification. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship being offered to the next applicant.
