WFSA is offering a fully funded 6-month Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowship at Christian Medical College, Vellore, starting March 2026. One fellowship is available, covering tuition, travel, accommodation, and living expenses.
Christian Medical College is offering one Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowship position for March 2026. The duration of the fellowship is 6 months.
Applications are now invited for a scholarship for this position. The successful applicant will receive funding to cover tuition, accommodation, travel, and subsistence expenses. Funding is provided by WFSA.
The fellow will work at Christian Medical College. Teaching will be provided by local faculty and visiting specialists.
All applicants must be registered medical practitioners in their country of origin and eligible for registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.
The training is conducted in English so you must be proficient in the language to be eligible for this programme.
Applicants for WFSA sponsorship should fit the following criteria:
- Must be supported in their application by their own national anaesthesiology society which must be a member society of the WFSA.
- Must be supported in their application by their head of department or hospital management.
- Must be returning to their home country to a recognized post.
- Should ideally be working in a teaching hospital

The deadline for applications is Sunday 18 January. Complete your application form and upload the following documents:
- Curriculum vitae with one recent photo and the names of two referees
- Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s national anaesthesiology society
- Letter of recommendation from the applicant’s head of department or hospital management
- Copy of medical degree
- Copy of specialist anaesthesiology qualification
Applications will be considered by a panel of anaesthesiologists selected by WFSA, and the successful applicant will be informed by mid-February at the latest.
Due to the short timeframe of fellow selection, priority for the March 2026 intake will be given to candidates who are already recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India. However, all candidates who fit the above criteria are welcome to apply for consideration of the March 2026 intake, or be considered for open positions in late 2026 or early 2027.
The successful applicant must confirm their intention to take up the scholarship within 3 days of notification. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship being offered to the next applicant.
