The Asian Australasian Regional Section (AARS) of WFSA has launched the first issue of the AARS Bulletin, highlighting anaesthesia activities, regional meetings and updates from Member Societies across Asia and the Pacific.
The bulletin features highlights from AACA Bangkok 2026, the WCA2026 Scholars programme, and recent activities from Member Societies across Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Cambodia and Australia.
It also includes information about upcoming regional meetings and provides an opportunity for Member Societies to share their news, activities and contributions with colleagues across the Asia and Pacific region.
Representing 27 WFSA Member Societies, AARS has introduced the bulletin to strengthen connections between societies and encourage greater collaboration across the region. The initiative was led by AARS Chair Dr Naveen Malhotra, with the first issue compiled by AARS board members Dr Maurice Atalifo (Fiji) and Megan Walmsley (Australia).
The inaugural issue also introduces the current AARS board, which began its four-year term at the AACA in Bangkok in February 2026, and features profiles of Secretary Dr Azarinah Izaham and Treasurer Dr Hiroshi Morimatsu.
The AARS board plans to publish the bulletin twice a year initially, with the possibility of moving to quarterly editions depending on interest from Member Societies.
AARS welcomes contributions from societies across the region, including stories, updates and activities they would like to share with the wider anaesthesia community.
