In 2014 the Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists (FAR) held a number of events across the country.
The year began with a conference entitled “Theory and practice of anaesthesia, and intensive care in obstetrics and gynaecology” with more than 1,500 anaesthesiologists from cities across Russia in attendance.
They also hosted the Third Interdisciplinary Scientific-Practical Conference entitled “Regional anaesthesia and perioperative analgesia: yesterday, today, and tomorrow”. In parallel to the conference, another course of lectures and workshops were offered on the nervous system, regional anaesthesia, pain management, regional anaesthesia and the use of ultrasound technology.
Next, the Sixth All-Russian Scientific-Practical Conference, entitled “Standards and individual approaches in anaesthesiology and intensive care”, was held in Gelendzhik with international participation and more than 700 people at the event.
This was followed by the Fourteenth Congress of the Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists in September, with more than 2,000 in attendance; and the First Congress of the Association of Obstetric Anaesthesiologists, which was attended by over 200 participants from 37 regions in Russia.
Additionally, an educational course on anaesthesiology was held in winter 2014. “Teach the teachers” was conducted in Russian with the support of the WFSA and the Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists.
