WFSA Endorsements

To support others committed to improving anaesthesia education and strengthening health systems, we invite like-minded organisations to apply for WFSA endorsement of their educational resources and activities.

What does WFSA endorsement mean?

WFSA defines an endorsement as nominal support for an event, educational activity, and resource organised by a Member Society, Regional Section or an external organisation (for granting endorsement of activities developed by external organisations endorsement, fees may be applied).

Once endorsed, the organisation may use on a limited and non-exclusive basis:

  • The terms “Endorsed by World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists”
  • WFSA’s correct endorsement logo on marketing material and websites about the resource or learning activity that the WFSA has endorsed. Only the correct WFSA endorsement logo awarded must be displayed to avoid the impression that the WFSA created the educational content.

Using the standard ‘A Member Society of WFSA’ logo is a benefit of all WFSA Member Societies and Regional Sections, but it does not imply a WFSA endorsement. Member Societies, Regional Sections and external organisations must apply for endorsement to use WFSA’s endorsement logo.

Endorsement requirements

For educational resources and learning activities:

  • Must be related to or closely related to anaesthesiology (eg, medical education, leadership, practitioner wellbeing), improve patient care and share common values with WFSA;
  • The educational content must be scientifically accurate and may require approval by content experts;
  • The educational content must be of high quality and relevance to participants;
  • The educational material must be widely accessible to its intended learners.

Please note that WFSA does not endorse books or surveys

If the activity is an event:

  • The organisers must ensure that the event is diverse in terms of potential speakers’ geographical representation, gender, and background;
  • The name of the event or activity must be unique and not confuse potential attendees or customers with any WFSA initiatives (e.g., World Congress of Anaesthesiologists).

How to apply for WFSA endorsement

WFSA takes its endorsement very seriously; all applications for endorsement are subject to a rigorous internal review process. Incomplete applications will not be considered for review, and will instead be returned to the applicant. Please note that though we aim to respond to your endorsement application within four weeks of submission, this process may take longer if there is a high volume of submitted endorsement applications. Thank you for your understanding.

Disclaimer: WFSA reserves the absolute right in its sole discretion to withhold any type of endorsement, even if the event or activity otherwise fulfils the above-listed criteria. Furthermore, WFSA reserves the sole right to amend these guidelines at any time without limitation.
