Get involved at WCA
The 18th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (WCA) will take place in Singapore, 3 – 7 March 2024.
With 4,500+ delegates from over 100 countries, WCA is the only international congress that offers a comprehensive programme that addresses anaesthesiology globally. Developed by internationally renowned experts, there are 18 different scientific tracks on a variety of topics, driving conversations, deepening collaboration and sharing knowledge.
Other than registering for WCA, there are many ways you can get involved:
Nominate colleagues for WFSA Awards
Two awards will be presented at WCA in March 2024, the Distinguished Service Award and the Rising Star Award. You can apply or nominate colleagues through our online awards platform.
The Distinguished Service Award is conferred to individuals who have made a special contribution to the Art and Science of Anaesthesiology, helped to promote or establish Anaesthesia initiatives anywhere in the world, or provided distinguished service to the WFSA.
The Rising Star Award aims to recognise talent within the next generation of anaesthesiology leaders worldwide. It celebrates the achievements of up to two trainees or new consultant (attending) anaesthesiologists who have shown exceptional promise and made a significant impact in their own hospital and beyond.
Register for the Global Anaesthesia Village
Bringing together anaesthesia-related organisations around the world, the Global Anaesthesia Village is positioned next to the WFSA stand in the exhibition hall at WCA.
Benefits of registering a stand include a dedicated display showcasing your organisation, promotion through digital and in print, and much more.
The Global Anaesthesia Village will be the meeting point for members of your society and the opportunity for delegates from around the world to learn about your activities and programmes.
Apply or support our scholarship programme
WFSA’s Scholarship Programme develops future leaders by helping young anaesthesiologists from low- and middle- income countries attend international congresses. The premier global anaesthesiology event, a WCA scholarship is invaluable to career progression and can have a transformative effect on healthcare in low-resource settings.
WCA scholars access lectures, PBLD and workshops on the latest development and techniques in anaesthesia alongside vital networking and learning opportunities. We aim to enable at least 50 scholars to attend WCA.
Applications for WCA Scholarships are now open – more information and how to apply.
