Webinar: Interactive EPM Session (G4 Alliance)

Join the G4 Alliance Pain Management Working Group for an
interactive session on the EPM program!

Less than 25 percent of the world’s population has access to effective pain
treatment. What can we do about it?

Essential Pain Management (EPM) is a cost-effective, multi-disciplinary
program. Run in over 55 countries it brings together local health workers to
improve pain knowledge, implement a simple framework for managing pain
and address pain management barriers. The EPM program is designed for
any health worker who comes in contact with patients who have pain.

EPM aims to:

  • Improve pain knowledge.
  • Teach health workers to Recognize, Assess and Treat pain (RAT).
  • Address pain management barriers.
  • Train local health workers to teach EPM.

This is particularly important for surgical, obstetric, trauma and anaesthesia
(SOTA) care. Untreated surgical disease causes pain, but so can surgical
treatment. Pain management should be an integral part of all SOTA
initiatives. The EPM program is a practical, tested approach to care for all.

Speakers:
Roger Goucke, Co-Creator of the EPM program
Mary Cardosa, President of the Malaysian Association for the
Study of Pain (MASP)
