Learning Objectives:

The overarching learning objective is to understand the recommendations behind the recently published ESICM Consensus in Shock and Haemodynamic Monitoring.

Specifically, to:

• Understand the meaning of shock and apply that knowledge to make a diagnosis.
• Evaluate, analyse and apply evidence regarding haemodynamic monitoring, fluid responsiveness, microcirculation and echocardiography in the management of patients with shock.
