InciSioN Global Surgery Symposium 2025: Global Anaesthesiology Panel
Global Anesthesiology: Pain Management, Cultural Competency & Barriers
Moderator: Dr Carolina Haylock-Loor (WFSA, President-Elect)
Panellists to include: Dr. Sidonia Suazo Reyes (WFSA Pain Committee)
This session aims to explore the global inequities in anaesthesia and pain management, with particular attention to the cultural, systemic, and workforce barriers that shape access to safe and dignified care. By bringing together perspectives from global experts, regional practitioners, humanitarian settings, and youth leaders, the discussion will highlight both the diversity of challenges and the common pathways toward solutions. Panelists will examine how cultural competency, equity, and inclusion can be embedded into anaesthesia education, practice, and system design across different contexts. Ultimately, the session seeks to generate actionable insights that empower students, clinicians, and policymakers to strengthen anaesthesia and pain care worldwide in ways that are equitable, compassionate, and culturally responsive.
In person event only.
