Now open: Nominations for WFSA Ambassador Group
The purpose of the WFSA Ambassador Group is to contribute – in an ambassadorial role – to WFSA’s mobilization of our global network of anaesthesiologists and Member Societies, especially to strengthen engagement in their own countries and regions.
Membership is approved by the WFSA Board and is open to all those who have served at least two terms on WFSA Committees/Council/Board and no longer hold any other positions in the Federation.
Eligibility
- Must have served at least two full terms on the WFSA Board, Council, or a WFSA Committee.
- Must not currently serve in any other positions for WFSA.
- Must be a member of a WFSA Member Society in good standing.
Application
New members will apply through our online application platform. Applications will require the following documents:
- Abbreviated CV (max. 3 pages)
- Letter of support from their National Member Society
Applications will close on 18 January
Note: Current members of the WFSA Ambassador Group do not need to submit an application to continue their membership.
Appointment
The acceptance and approval of membership of the Group is by simple majority vote of the WFSA Board. Ambassador Group members will take up post at the 19th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists taking place in Marrakech, Morocco 15-19 April 2026. Note that although very welcome, there is no requirement for Ambassadors to attend WCA2026.
Annual meeting
Members will be invited to attend an annual virtual meeting organised by WFSA and addressed by the Federation’s current leadership. Group members will be invited to meet with WFSA leadership at each World Congress of Anaesthesiologists (all costs associated with attendance will be coved by the members themselves).
