Nominations for WFSA Committees 2026-2028 opened on 1 July 2025 and closed on 15 September 2025.

Explore WFSA Committees for 2026–2028

WFSA Committees provide the main source of support, expertise, and guidance for our programmes and activities. Applications were open for service on the following 10 WFSA Committees:

  • Constitution
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Education
  • Intensive and Critical Care Medicine
  • Obstetric Anaesthesia
  • Paediatric Anaesthesia
  • Pain Management
  • Safety and Quality
  • Sustainability
  • Workforce Wellbeing

Application process:

The following documents were required as applications were submitted:

  • An abbreviated CV (no more than three A4 pages)
  • A letter of motivation (no more than 500 words)
  • A passport style photograph (electronic jpeg version)
  • A letter of endorsement from your Member Society stating why they consider you to be qualified for this position

Anyone already serving on a WFSA Committee, were still required to submit an application to be considered for the 2026-2028 term.

Applications are carefully considered by the Ad-Hoc Nominations Committee based on:

  • Previous engagement with WFSA
  • Leadership roles in Member Societies or other organisations
  • Scientific publications
  • Invitations to speak on a national or international level
  • Experience in teaching
  • Organising scientific meetings
  • Editorial experience
  • Grants / awards experience

Geographical representation, country income level, and gender balance will also be taken into account in the review process. Candidates for Committee Chair may be invited to an interview via Zoom. All candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application by 31 November 2025. Selected applicants will begin their Committee term at WCA2026 in Marrakech (15-19 April 2026).
